CORDIERITE DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTERS
Our Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) come with either Cordierite or Silicon Carbide cores. Cordierite is the ‘industry standard’ within the aftermarket and offers a durable but cost-effective alternative to the OE equivalent.
Made from ceramic material, the porous substrate allows exhaust gases to flow through the walls of the filter but traps the physical soot particles. The DPF will require regeneration at a certain fill level to ensure it achieves its service life. EEC has one of the widest ranges of DPFs, covering PLG and LCV vehicles up to and including Euro 6 legislation.

FAULT DIAGNOSIS
- A Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is a service item and will need to be replaced at the end of its life. This will vary by vehicle manufacturer and the how the vehicle is maintained
- If the DPF needs replacing due to blockage, this would usually be the result of an electrical or mechanical fault upstream, which includes:
- Turbo wear, engine wear, contaminated air filter, fuel injector & glow plug faults
IMPORTANT
- Before Fitment:
- Ensure the original fault has been located and correct
- Sound fitment has been achieved
- The ECU has been re-set using the suitable machine for vehicle type
- A full forced regeneration cycle has been completed
- Failure to fulfil any of the above will void warranty

We only use the highest grade of components, sourced globally, to ensure quality and fitability, enabling us to meet the European type approval standards.
To ensure the DPF functions correctly:
• The correct engine oil must be used, as per the manufacturer’s handbook
• The diesel injectors, glow plugs, EGR valve, fuel pump & filter and air filter must be clean and in good working order
• There must be sufficient DPF additive (when applicable)
Regenerations may not take place if:
• There is less than 20 litres of fuel in the tank
• The engine management light is on
• The vehicle is only used for short journeys
• The DPF is faulty and needs further diagnosis
