The water circulation pump is used to electrically preheat the vehicle engine. This parking heater preheats the water that has been pumped into the combustion chamber by the circulation pump. In the heat exchanger the heated water releases its heat into the air heating the vehicle interior to a comfortable temperature and also keeping the windscreen free of ice on cold days. In addition the engine is warmed up during this process so that it is already preheated at the start and is thus protected.
