Shell Helix HX5 15w-40 has been formulated with cleansing technology. It works harder to protect than ordinary motor oils, removing old and preventing new sludge build up from dirty engines, and reducing engine noise.
Shell Helix HX5 has a high total base number (TBN), which is a measure of an oil’s ability to fight the acids formed during the combustion of gasoline and diesel fuel. Its high TBN means that Shell Helix HX5 helps to combat corrosion to help prevent engine damage and prolong engine life.
The active cleansing technology has proven its ability to not only prevent sludge and varnish formation, but also remove the existing engine sludge in gasoline and diesel engines that was left behind by inferior oils
